Let's Lose Weight Together

I really must apologize for being away so long. I have had to deal with alot of personal issues and I have picked up weight along the way.
I am on a new journey to losing weight and it hasn't been easy. My exercise routine has been regular but not intense enough and my diet has been up and down.

I will consider this period as working out the nuts and bolts. I have decided that starches such as rice, pasta and breads are dangerous for me, at least now.

Six years ago I lost 65lbs. It was a period in my life where I was making major changes. I was going through a divorce, I was gigging very steadily and I was madly in love. So you see I was highly motivated to lose the weight and start my new life.
All cylinders were working then and my workout and diet playbook was established.

I have made several attempts to use that playbook. I have been unsuccessful because now I'm barely working on three cylinders. My life isn't as balanced as I would like it to be and I have had to soldier on without key elements in my life.

Is this you? I will continue to blog about how I'm progressing in my weight loss and I hope you can find support here to help you on your journey.

Creating The Body You Want

Are you ready to work and create the body you want instead of wishing for it?
It's all about commitment and dedication. Once you have done that the rest is easy.
You just do it! Keep in mind, in order to burn fat and shed those pounds you must diet intelligently eating low fat foods, watch your carbs, cut out junk food, processed foods and embark on a high intensity daily workout.

Be gentle but firm with yourself, visualize the body you want but be realistic.
Understand your body type and what can be accomplished with it.
Don't zero in on some celebrity and wish or hope for her or his body especially if you don't have the same body type.

Concentrate on your own assets and work with what you've got.
Give yourself time to lose the weight and get in shape. Weight training is essential in creating the body you want. Diet alone will not accomplish that. I have seen many skinny fat people. You can tell that they lost alot of weight but they have a flabby body.

Get going and I wish you all the success!

Another New Year Resolution!

Here we go again. We're at the end of an old year and about to bring in a new year.
So how did you do with your weight loss? Were you successful or did you fall off the wagon? Look towards the new year as an opportunity to rebuild your life and leave old, painful baggage behind.

You'll find that your weight loss will be more successful in the New Year if you shed all negative baggage (anger, pain, fear, resentment etc)thus allowing the weight to come off. Don't allow yourself the same lip service you have programmed yourself to tell yourself this time every year.

Have a reflective and honest moment with yourself. What steps do i need to take to change and improve my life? Remember change is hard and you must be willing to go the distance however uncomfortable it may be.

Have a great Holiday, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Too Cold To Work Out?

Winter is here, It's my favorite season. I'm here in South Florida and it's about 52 degrees. I know it's even colder up North. I know you want to stay in bed and stay snug and warm. You can still warm up by getting up and working out. Winter time should not deter you from exercising.

If you are a walker or runner dress warmly and soldier on. If it is snowing workout indoors. Statistically people tend to gain weight during the winter season because of
the cold weather and the holidays.

Remember the new year is just around the corner and you promised yourself a new body last January.
